I am absolutely in love with my new bangle bracelet by Caroline Svedbom. I just had to have this! I know myself, would I have left it in the shop I would've regretted not being it in the first place and gone back there anyway. It's such a gorgeous statement piece and I have so many ideas of how to style it. Caroline also does a bunch of other jewellery pieces in the same style and I've added some of them to my birthday wish list. As for pricing, they're not cheap, nor are they expensive. I'd say they're affordable, you get what you pay for pretty much.

It has been so nice to come home! To have my precious family around, my friends, my job, and my own bed is pretty damn sweet. All of those things are things that I missed so much while I was away. But I will say, coming home after living and travelling alone and independently isn't actually that super easy, especially when you have to come back to living in really small town, a little rabbit hole as I like to call it.
I've grown as a person, become more confident, and learnt so many things by being away and having to take care of myself. I had a routine, my own routine, my own ways of doing things and so on. I never relied on anyone else but myself. It can be tough being out there by yourself but its such a great experience. It's only been just over two weeks of being home and I'm starting to feel a little bit stuck, almost slight panic over the thought of not knowing when I get to travel again or how long I'm going to have to stay in this rabbit hole. I'm now constantly looking for cheap flights and places I'd like to visit next. I guess that's one of the things with travelling, once you start, you can't stop. Traveling is like a drug in a way I suppose. I think travelling is a wonderful thing, and if you ever get the chance to go see a new place, go! There's so much to see This is one of my favourite cakes to make, its so quick, easy and of course, deeeeelishious. In Sweden we would call this a "drömtårta" which means "dreamcake", the name is perfect. Since my time in Australia I haven't made one in six months and today I was in a real baking mood. So I though I'd take some pictures and share the recipe here, because I'm pretty sure, once you've tried it, you'll love it. What?
How?
I spent a whole day running around Sydney CBD the day before I was leaving to pick up some last bits and pieces before going home to Europe. I knew that I wanted to go and get the Marc Jacobs "Twinkle Pop" in the shade Au Revoir, its so twinkly and pigmented and feels cooling on the eyelid, it's truly a must-have!
I needed some kind of face powder to I ended up getting the "Hello Fresh" face powder by Benefit. I love a natural looking base and I diteste when it looks caked on and I don't like the thought of wearing several layers of makeup on my skin. This works as a setting powder or you could wear it by itself and get a light, natural looking finish. Then I just wanted to browse around for a bit and saw they had a wide range of colours from Formula X, which is my FAV brand for nail polish. So I ended up getting the colour "Moon Walk" which is the most gorgeous white sparkly nail polish. It reminded me of a Dior nail polish I was given a long time ago and just had to get it. When I had finished in Sephora I wanted to just have a look around other shops so I ended up walking into a discount chemist and found the Burberry London perfume for 19 bucks, just had to have it! And it smells so freaking good, I'm going to need more of this! Hello Sweden! Believe it or not, but I am back in Sweden. I couldn't have picked a better time to come home, the weather is on fleek! Sun is shining and its warmer than it was in Sydney. I'm so happy to be home!
Nobody knew I was coming home, but I had planned to come home for almost a month. With a little help from my moms close friend I managed to make my home coming a complete surprise. It was such an amazing and indescribable feeling to see how happy my family and best friend was to see me. And my dog, oh how happy he was to see me! Now that I'm back, I'll go back to having a proper job which I actually enjoy and I should have more structured days, and more time to focus on things such as writing more and hopefully better quality blogposts. I'm so exited to be home but I also can't wait to see where my next adventure is going to take me. Byron bay is one of the most chilled out and beautiful places that I have ever been too. Byron offers an overflow of bohemian little shops, surfers, blue water at the beaches, good food and just an overall relaxing and chilled out atmosphere.
I went to see the byron bay lighthouse at the most eastern point of Australia and the view was beautiful. The water is like a turquoise, electric blue when the waves break and at one point we could see a pod of dolphins jumping in and out of the water. Sadly I couldn't get any good pictures of them cause they were too far away. But the view was just so stunning. Then of course I did some shopping, ended up getting quite a few things. I mean how could I not, skirt, surf tee, crystal necklaces, sunglasses, ehh yes please! Had dinner at this tiny little Chinese place which was recommended to us by a local, it was amazing. |
