This was my second time in Barcelona. I went on a girls weekend trip with two good friends of mine to get away from cold, wet snowy Sweden for a few days. Last time I came here I left with a rather bland impression on this city, which so many people seem to be completely head over heals for. So this time I was hoping that I'd leave feeling a little more enthusiastic about Barcelona. So I thought I'd give you my thoughts, there will be positives and even though I don't like being negative, there will be some cons. Let's start with the thing you just should not miss, I'm talking Park Guell, La Rambla and Sagrada Familia. I just think that those are three things that are famous landmarks in Barcelona and it's sort of a must to see them when you're there. We decided to go on a hike up to Park Guell one morning where you can see the whole city. Then of course theres the food. I feel like it really can either be a hit or miss with the food. I usually go by one thing when I'm looking for a place to eat; is a lot of people sat in the restaurant? If theres a lot of people sat in a restaurant that should be a clear sign that the food is good. I can't really recommend any places because I don't really think the places we went to were that fantastic. The food could be great at some places but the service was horrible, or the service was great and the food not so much. Though I will say, do not miss the food market on La Rambla. There was so much food, colours, smells and the whole atmosphere was great. Mojito's, Daiquiris, Cuba Libre's... I won't deny that we all may have had one too many drinks during our trip. But the drinks down there are so yum! Thankfully we were shown around and taken to some really cool spots, nothing like I've ever seen before. The bars we went to were little tucked away places in the alleyways and smaller streets. But please, do not leave your drinks unattended as there is a risk of your drink being spiked. I personally haven't experienced it, but we did observe it and it was very scary to think that it could just as well had been me who got drugged. There is so much incredible street art in Barcelona. If it weren't for all the colourful graffiti the streets would look rather boring I think. The harbour side is so beautiful, theres lots of stunning boats, and the promenad is lined with palm trees, and people playing music, yes please! Shopping here is fantastic, they've got so much to offer! You have got to pop in to ZARA while here because the stock here is incredible and it's way cheaper too. I've come home with a lot of goodies which I'm super exited about. Let's round it up. I would like to visit Barcelona again sometime but not for a while. It's definitely a destination worth travelling to and seeing but to be completely honest there are other places that I do prefer. But that's just my opinion, I know that a lot of people adore Barcelona.

On Sunday we spent the day walking around Shoreditch, which is in East London. I had never been to this part of London before but this part of London has so much character and a lot of cool stuff to offer. I believe Shoreditch is known to be the "hipster" part of London and it totally makes sense. There's heaps of cool street art, markets, thrift shops, music playing, small quirky shops and then there was Boxpark which was really cool. Definitely a place I'd say is worth checking out if you're in London.
It has been so nice to come home! To have my precious family around, my friends, my job, and my own bed is pretty damn sweet. All of those things are things that I missed so much while I was away. But I will say, coming home after living and travelling alone and independently isn't actually that super easy, especially when you have to come back to living in really small town, a little rabbit hole as I like to call it.
I've grown as a person, become more confident, and learnt so many things by being away and having to take care of myself. I had a routine, my own routine, my own ways of doing things and so on. I never relied on anyone else but myself. It can be tough being out there by yourself but its such a great experience. It's only been just over two weeks of being home and I'm starting to feel a little bit stuck, almost slight panic over the thought of not knowing when I get to travel again or how long I'm going to have to stay in this rabbit hole. I'm now constantly looking for cheap flights and places I'd like to visit next. I guess that's one of the things with travelling, once you start, you can't stop. Traveling is like a drug in a way I suppose. I think travelling is a wonderful thing, and if you ever get the chance to go see a new place, go! There's so much to see Byron bay is one of the most chilled out and beautiful places that I have ever been too. Byron offers an overflow of bohemian little shops, surfers, blue water at the beaches, good food and just an overall relaxing and chilled out atmosphere.
I went to see the byron bay lighthouse at the most eastern point of Australia and the view was beautiful. The water is like a turquoise, electric blue when the waves break and at one point we could see a pod of dolphins jumping in and out of the water. Sadly I couldn't get any good pictures of them cause they were too far away. But the view was just so stunning. Then of course I did some shopping, ended up getting quite a few things. I mean how could I not, skirt, surf tee, crystal necklaces, sunglasses, ehh yes please! Had dinner at this tiny little Chinese place which was recommended to us by a local, it was amazing. Major life update, I moved to Sydney! Yay! Finally! Moving here is a dream come true. I'm so in love with this city, cause it has the best of both worlds. I love a big city but I also love the seaside, in Sydney you get both.
I've moved into a shareflat in Bondi, with about 5 minutes walking distance to Bondi beach. To get into central Sydney all I need to do is walk around the corner and catch the bus. My room has a little balcony from which you can see the ocean. It's just perfect! I've got myself a job as well, so the past two weeks have just been really hectic trying to get readjusted. But now I feel really content. The people I'm sharing the flat with are so sweet and we all get along really well which is awesome. Let the Sydney kind of life begin! So I spent last weekend on this beautiful little piece of paradise called Fitzroy Island. Fitzroy is located 30-40min boat ride away from Cairns. I just went for a day trip and spent most of the day at Nudie beach, taking heaps of pictures, snorkelling and tanning and did paddle boarding on the main beach. There's lots of other things to see at Fitzroy such as walking to the highest summit or you could go look at the lighthouse. But I personally just wanted to have a chilled beach day where I could just enjoy the views, crystal clear blue water, blue sky, white sand, and corals. This was actually the first time I saw a place like this, I've never seen water so blue and clear and I've never seen a beach with so many washed up pieces of coral. I was blown away by how beautiful and colourful the surroundings were. A Saturday spent at Etty Bay with a big bunch of friends is a Saturday perfectly spent. Chilling under palm trees, drinking a cold coke and music playing sounds like a dream, hey? but it's actually reality. Work hard on the weeks, and enjoy the weekends. Thats my life right now. working on a banana farm feel so much easier knowing that I get to spend my weekends on the beach, at a waterfall, or taking a trip to the city with a bunch of friends.
Yesterday I went to Ellis Beach to model for a guy who's setting up a photo gallery website and it was so much fun. The weather was perfect up until we were finished, then it started pouring down with rain. It's wet-season here and it's been raining almost every day for about 2 weeks now, so when the sun does come out you really need to take advantage of it.
